The year 2022 was a great one for soothing color palettes and soft pieces. Filled with creating an atmosphere of serenity. Now that it has come to a close, the long-anticipated design trends for 2023 are here. The new year is bringing a sense of individualism with a more personalized approach to spaces. These bold trends are emerging from the woodwork. Elements that were never expected to take over in previous years. Today, we are going to be talking about what this new year of design trends will bring.

More Color

Saturated colors are hot this year. Neutrals are falling off to give cheerful hues a chance in the spotlight. Towards the last half of 2022, we saw the use of bold earthy tones. Bringing in certain hues of greens, browns, and oranges. We are not saying to paint all the walls different, bold colors. Furthermore, achieve this by adding upbeat colors subtly throughout the space in a tasteful way. For example, with decor pieces such as ceramic vases. Also, consider carved hand tables or a velvet sofa piece to add some more character. If you aren’t ready for a big change, then bring in an oversized rug or art piece. Those tend to be small changes with a big impact.

Less Grays

Yes, we know that in recent years this has been the "it" neutral. However, the use of multiple gray hues in one space is slowly fading out. As mentioned in the paragraph above, color schemes are being replaced by pops of color. Some are steering away from all the cool hues. Warm tones will take its place in the new year. If you have an all gray space, that doesn't mean that it can’t be warmed up. There are many different design elements to make it more inviting. Such as changing the lighting, using different cushions, adding wood decor, and so much more.

Making the Old Pieces New Again

2023 is less about flashy elements, and luxury is a more desired look. Today, leisure design can be achieved in more natural and subtle ways. Personalizing and self expressing an area is what people are looking forward to. Craftsmanship can play a role in this. There is more meaning behind the pieces. Matching furniture sets are less interesting and can sometimes be more costly. Having specific pieces of furniture stand out that are unique. You will start to see more recycled stone surfaces, vintage wood furniture, and modern fabric on vintage seating. This is a great way to be more sustainable.
