We are going to explain what it is, the options for laying it down, and the benefits of using LVP.

What is LVP

LVP stands for luxury vinyl flooring, which is an alternative to hardwood flooring. The main reason this flooring became popular so fast is because it gives off the same warmth and texture as hardwood. However, it still provides all of the benefits of using vinyl. This is wonderful flooring if you have any pets. Being that it is scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic. The product itself is extremely customizable because of its variety. Pick from different textures, colors, and tones to match the style of any home. LVP is not synthetic; its core is made of wood byproducts bonded together by resin.

Laying Down Options

There are a couple ways to put down LVP. We are going to talk about two options. The first is glued down, which is great for bigger projects. If there is a lot of square footage, this would be the most cost-efficient option. If glued down, you can replace or repair individual pieces if damage occurs. The other option is loose-lay. There is no glue involved with this process. What keeps these plans in place are weight and friction. This is thicker than what is glued down by 5 millimeters. Both are cost-effective, and it depends on your preference for the project.

Benefits

Let's talk about the benefits of LVP and why you should consider it for your space. It is extremely durable, easy to install, affordable, easy to clean, and so much more. A huge reason is how waterproof it is. Ideally, LVP is for rooms that have lots of water, like kitchens, laundry rooms, mud areas, bathrooms, and basements. Keeping your floor protected from moisture is important and can save money. It is very common to see this flooring throughout the entire house for that reason. Lastly, with the variety of choices—marble, wood, tile, concrete, and stone—the options for flooring are endless. It can be hard to pick just one. Have we convinced you to consider luxury vinyl flooring?
