Colors to Use

When talking about neutrals, the first thing that comes to mind is white and beige. However, they are anything but boring! The number of colors, tones, and shades is endless when it comes to neutrals. They can go from blacks to browns to taupes and gray and ivory and everything in between. Even better is that you can use colors like blue, pink, yellow, and green as the statement color. Just turn the saturation down to where the tone is calm and neutral.

Materials

In this case, materials can also mean finishes. Which are elements that will be used to accentuate the design. This can be wood, ceramic pieces, and natural stone the list can go on. It is important to stick with natural elements as best as you can. Especially when it comes to creating a neutral bedroom. Cold metallics are not your friend when trying to achieve this look. Do not get furniture with chrome legs and chrome hardware. Instead, go with warm metallics such as aged brass. Maybe even adding in leather with some ottomans or chairs.

Textures

Textures play a huge role when it comes to blending a neutral-toned room. The definition is an object's visual and physical appearance. It is the key to making the space look different. Texture can be added in numerous ways. Adding rugs with different weaving and patterns could be a good example of this. Bring in some baskets, pillows, throw blankets, texture to furniture, linen curtains, and some fringe. There are countless components to use. That is what makes textures so fun! What was just talked about for materials and textures that can be used in any room?
